The Arc'Teryx Atom LT Hoody is a hybrid zip-up mid-layer that is designed to be used as an insulation layer on cold days or as a stand-alone jacket when the weather shapes up. Strategic insulation in the torso, arms and hood helps retain core heat, while breathable side panels under the arms keep your body from overheating. The Atom LT Hoody is compressible and lightweight, making this a great packable layer for bakcountry touring. - Durable Water Repellent (DWR) finish repels light rain/snow from saturating the outer layer
- Insulated hood fits under helmet for additional insulation
- Breathable side panels under the arm help regulate body temperature
- Wind resistant exterior prevents blustery conditions from penetrating the hoody

Expert Review:
"This has been a great addition to my clothing quiver. With this insulator it's great alone or as an add on for the colder days. I like how it is light weight and wind resistant. I was caught in a light rain and because it is synthetic it kept me warm. The athletic fit lets me use it as a layering piece and the stretchy cuffs add to comfort and better fit under my shell."

BACKPACKER MAGAZINE Assessment:
Most Versatile: 'I rarely took this jacket off,' raves a tester who wore the Atom as an outer shell and as insulation. He credits the strong breathability and easy layering, both the result of a hybrid design that combines compressible Coreloft insulation in the torso, arms, and hood with side panels of Polartec Power Stretch. You get warmth without bulk (it slides easily under a shell) and venting superior to any other puffy jacket.
'I didn't get hot when snowshoeing up the steeps because the fleece sides were so breathable,' says a tester. As an outer layer, the water-resistant nylon shell shed snow and dried quickly when damp. A sculpted 'scuba' hood boosts warmth by wrapping far forward around the face. The hood is designed to be worn under a helmet, so it has no drawstring; as a result, it flopped a bit in the wind when worn alone.
