Winning numerous industry awards, the Black Diamond AMPerage is the definition of what to look for in an alpine touring ski - lightweight, a turn radius that's as happy in a bowl as it is in the trees, plenty of floatation at 115mm underfoot, and enough stability to let 'em run if you need to. The AMPerage will keep you happy backcountry hiking, deep powder flying, and storm day tree dodging. The full tip and tail rocker allow for playful agility whether you are initiating quick carved turns or smearing turns down a ridge while the camber underfoot keeps you stable and in control when the snow gets firmer, allowing easy transitions between the side country and in-bounds skiing. With an Ollie Bar to help you pop into the air, the Black Diamond AMPerage ski lets you enjoy not only the whole mountain range, but also being in the crisp sky above it.
  • Ollie Bar - in the tail gives you extra pop on take-offs and prevents wheelie-outs on landings
  • Formula One Technology - three ribs and Torsion Box Construction offer maximum torsional stiffness
Expert Review:

"Whether you want to worm turn or a slash and burn, if you can ski hard, BD's Amperage is the ski. This is not for the weak or the meek. Rock as fast and as hard as you can in the open pow field, wez some tight trees or beat your bro to the rope drop. As much energy or power as you can throw at the Amp, it will just laugh and say "Is that all you've got?" Learn why Black Diamond's Amperage has won so many awards for yourself."

Industry Review:

Skiing MAGAZINE Assessment:

Black Diamond has made a real effort to jump from backcountry to freeride, and its fine-tuned ski line shows. The AMPerage is BD's latest. It's a lightweight cap construction with tip and tail rocker. Despite camber underfoot, it prefers smeary turns in powder and trees.

Mountain MAGAZINE Assessment:

The AMPerage's tips and tails are both tapered and rockered for loose powder skiing, but underfoot camber and a wood core with a reinforcing 'ollie bar' in the tail deliver enough oomph for hardpack. Our testers raved about its abilities to squirrel around effortlessly in trees. Throw them sideways and sluff-turn through tight spots and scrub speed without hooking edges. 'Awesome floatation; easy to smear; and lightweight enough for all day powder sessions' wrote one tester.
