There was a backcountry ski boot revolution when The Factor ski boots first appeared a few years ago. Black Diamond's Factor boots are a freeride-inspired alpine boot with a walk mode. The innovation continues this year with Black Diamond's Factor 130 men's ski boot which has a newly redesigned liner for better fit and warmth. BD is never satisfied and The Factor consistently progresses. Its wraparound fit makes it an evermore-powerful do-it-all alpine touring boot which is a very popular choice among serious backcountry skiers. It includes Black Diamond's Alpine Sole Blocks, which can be changed out with integrated tech compatible inserts (sold separately). - Stiffer and more powerful than the Factor 110
- Triax Pro Frame with Flex 130 and 20 degrees of resistance-free touring motion
- Plastic liner tongue for a smooth, evenly distributed flex, plus an extra wide power strap
- Thermoformable Power Fit Liner features a 3:1 Freeride Series Boa closure system, aerogel-insulated strobel base and articulating zones for touring comfort

Industry Review:
Backcountry Magazine, 2012 Editor's Choice: "Stiff enough for total confidence, but tours well enough to take on long days."
Skiing MAGAZINE Assessment:
Though Black Diamond's boot line is only in its fourth year, the brand was one of the first to offer a stiff, alpine-style boot with touring capability, and this year's version of the original Factor is still one of the best downhill performers available. The redesigned liner - warmer and more anatomically precise - boasts a Boa tightening system, a dial-ratcheted, wire lacing scheme that wraps the liner snugly around your leg and foot and keeps the tongue and your heel in place. The boot is plenty stiff for big dudes on fat boards and comes with DIN-alpine sole blocks that can be swapped for lugged, tech-compatible blocks.
