Backstory
Doug started racing as a kid on road and dirt bikes – before mountain bikes even existed. When the first mountain bikes came on the scene, Doug determined that they were a pretty good combination of what he’d already been riding. Given his self-professed motto to “take everything to the highest level,” Doug became a mechanic on the World Cup mountain bike circuit, working for the Cannondale/Volvo team for 12 years. There he worked with some of the best athletes in the world and was even given the unique opportunity to go to the factory and build the specific bikes he wanted the team to ride. Now the Senior Brand Ambassador for SRAM, Doug educates sales reps, dealers, and consumers about the company that he considers the best in the industry. “It's all about SRAM quality,” says Doug. “But it's our innovation that inspires cyclists and SRAM leads the world in cycling advocacy.”

“Doug is the most-winning mechanic in World Cup mountain bike history and has been in the industry since its heyday in the early 90’s. We can thank Doug and his cohorts for a lot of modern day cycling innovations – things that they were designing back in the day so that their teams could win races. The guy is a wizard when it comes to that sort of thing.”
