Ride Summary
This is Park City’s signature epic experts’ ride. It has phenomenal views of Park City, White Pine Canyon, and Parley’s Canyon to the right, and Big Cottonwood Canyon to the left. The vistas are fantastic any time, and at the height of fall color, they are truly breathtaking. That might be because you’re at almost 10,000’, but we don’t think that’s the only reason.
You’ll start with a little warm up on the road from White Pine Touring to the “left side” of Park City Mountain Resort, and then you’ll jump into definitively technical climbing for about six miles. The rocks are big, the roots are tricky and the switchbacks are tight. After that, there’s another four miles of climbing to the ridge line above Park City where you’ll find almost unparalleled views.
The ride along the Ridge is fun, mostly flat, and fast, culminating in a very rocky technical downhill by Desolation Lake. After a short climb, there’s a longer technical downhill at the far west end of the Canyons leading to the Mid-Mountain Trail. From there you can head down and return to town via road, or you can enjoy almost 17 miles of great cross mountain riding and then finish with some exciting technical downhill.
