Ride Summary

Todd’s Two Mountain Tour is designed by national champion and local mountain biker Todd Henneman, who also happens to run the bike department for Jans. This extra ordinary mountain bike ride is exactly as the title suggests: an excellent expert tour of both Deer Valley Resort and Park City Mountain Resort. There are big climbs, big views, and variety ranging from dense forest to high alpine meadows. It’s a long, technical ride, so be prepared with lots water and plenty of energy gels and/or bars.

You will start on the far “left side” (looking uphill from base) of Deer Valley and end by coming down the far right side at Park City Mountain Resort. It’s a great way to see the variety the area has to offer from open meadows to very tight trees and from a couple persistent uphills to long, fast single-track downhills.

The ride begins from the base of Deer Valley by the Snow Park Lodge and climbs to the top of Deer Valley’s Flagstaff Mountain. It is a steady climb of about 2,500 feet over 10 miles, but the payoff is some truly fantastic riding near the top. As a side note, this is Todd’s favorite portion of the ride because it’s fast and technical at the same time. From near the summit of Deer Valley’s Flagstaff Mountain, there’s great single track, lots of it through dense trees, connecting the two resorts. Once over at Park City Mountain Resort, you are treated to another climb of about 1,000 feet covering just over four miles. After that it’s seven great miles of downhill single track to bring you back to town.
