The experienced instructors from our AIARE Avalanche Education Program will provide you with the basic knowledge needed to enhance your understanding of avalanche-prone snow conditions. In no way a substitute for an AIARE 1 avalanche course, this lecture is designed to be the groundwork for your continued avalanche education. Together, we’ll explore the implications of winter travel in backcountry terrain, and how to be aware of the hazards without removing the fun. We’ll cover everything from gear and technology, to terrain and snowpack.
