Super-Carve/Skier Cross 2006

Volkl Allstar Racing PCOS
Sizes Available: 175, 182
Sidecut: 116/70/101

Jans' Assessment: Extended double-grip construction and sensorwood core give this ski a rock-solid feel at high speeds. It can nearly initiate a turn from a mere thought. This ski is designed for the proficient skier who loves speed but needs something to handle the entire mountain. It includes Marker's Motion IPT racing binding with piston control oil suspension.
Ski Magazine Assessment: You'll get your pass pulled for skiing this one the way it likes to be skied. But it might be worth it! This is a ski that loves to run on groomers but is also reasonably adept in crud, bumps and powder.

Volkl Allstar PCOS

Sizes Available: 161, 168
Sidecut: 116/70/101
Jans' Assessment: The exact same ski as the Allstar Racing ski, except it comes with Marker's Motion AT binding, which has a slightly lower din scale for the everyday skier who wants the advantage of an oil suspension binding system.

Atomic Metron B:5

Sizes Available: 152, 162, 172
Radius: 11m

Jans' Assessment: Here is a ski that started a new category in the ski industry. The B5 technology helps the Metron B5 carve in any snow condition or terrain, yet it handles smoothly at mach speeds. An increased camber and active power extension sucks up rough snow for unparalleled edge grip.

Head IXRC 1400 Chip

Sizes Available: 163, 170, 177
Sidecut: 116/68/100

Jans' Assessment: Holy cow! What a ski! Microchip technology with intellifiber internal torsion control gives the 1400 a feel you have to ski to believe. Integrated railflex binding system (not included) is combined with a shape made to rock your world. It laughs at crud and will lay trenches in the corduroy.

Rossignol Z9 TPI Axial

Sizes Available: 154, 162, 170, 176
Sidecut: 126/74/105
Jans' Assessment: Complete with a new generation oversized shape and a twin pulsion plate, the Z9 can transfer energy at the drop of a hat. Its wider profile allows for smooth rides on all snow/terrain conditions with plenty of power and agility.
Ski Magazine Assessment: File this one squarely in the "fat slalom" category, then hang on for an exciting ride. If you like to get your money's worth on each run, the Z9 obliges, with a double deep sidecut that plunges greedily into every carved turn. But all that shapeliness is fused to a width that's more appropriate to soft groomers and crud than it is to an icy slalom course.

Elan Ripstick Fusion
Sizes Available: 164, 170, 178
Sidecut: 109/66/178
Jans' Assessment: The name says it all. If you truly enjoy laying trenches on gnarly terrain at "hair on fire" speeds, this is the stick for you. Its narrow waist makes the Ripstick super quick edge-to-edge, and its integrated binding system gives you snow sensitivity you've never felt before.

Head WC Supershape
Sizes Available: 160, 165, 170
Sidecut: 120/65/105

Jans' Assessment: World Cup sandwich construction, a larger footprint and a 13 mm carve plate make this ski an enigma on the snow. Intelligence technology and liquid-metal laminates combine to give the Supershape performance that will blow you away.
