As a service to the guests and owners of The St. Regis Deer Valley, Jans has a shop located on the ski-in, ski-out level of the hotel right by the Ski Valet area. Due to space limitations, we are only able to provide enough ski rental inventory at that location for those staying at the property. The equipment and products available at The St. Regis Deer Valley have been carefully selected for guests of the hotel, and we trust that you will be pleased with the skis, clothing, and accessories available on site. For a larger selection of items you might like to purchase, we invite you to visit our much larger store in the Snowpark Lodge at the base of Deer Valley or our flagship store at 1600 Park Avenue at the corner of Park Avenue and Deer Valley Drive.

At first look, it's easy to assume that the only contrast between men's and women's skis are the graphics - but the difference couldn't be bigger. Why? Because a woman skiing on men's equipment is five times more likely to tear her ACL. Even without an injury, a woman will have to work a lot harder to ski on men's equipment.
Men and women are built differently, so their equipment needs to be different. For the same height and level of physical fitness, women have lower centers of gravity; their center of gravity rests farther back on their feet; and their legs are farther apart at the hips than men's. These differences all affect how women's skis, boots and bindings are designed and ultimately improves her day on the hill.
Women's skis, boots and bindings are specifically designed and fitted to fit the profile of a female body, which translates into precise control, better balance and more agility on the mountain. A woman using proper women's equipment will experience less fatigue and will almost assuredly enjoy the skiing more.
The construction of a woman's ski typically starts with the front of the ski being made of a softer, easier-flexing core material than the rest of the ski. This makes turn initiation easier and reduces strain on the knees.
Because women carry their center of gravity lower than men, and particularly because that center is slightly further back on their feet, the waist (the narrowest part) of a women's ski is moved forward, which moves the maximum flexibility point of the ski forward to make the turn initiation faster. This improves contact with the snow so the ski can hold a secure edge without "washing out." Bindings are also mounted forward on women's skis to match the forward waist and to accommodate the lower center of gravity, letting women comfortably and effortlessly maneuver their equipment in all types of terrain. The result is a responsive and stable ski that works hard for female skiers of all abilities.
Women's ski boots are equally as important. Women's calves sit lower on the leg than men's, which drastically affects the fit and overall comfort of the boot. Without the right support in the calf, it won't take long before muscle cramps ruin a perfect ski day. And because women have a narrow heel, ladies' ski boots are designed to cradle the delicate foot, eliminating "heel lift" and increasing stability.
Our Kids’ ski rental packages include the same quality equipment as the adult packages, but smaller and more flexible to accommodate a child’s height and weight. Featuring Atomic skis, our Kids’ ski rental packages provide the ease and stability that younger skiers often need... learn more
