Atomic Maven 86 C Ski
This is a really fun women's ski from Atomic that's pretty good at doing just about everything. I liked the HRZN tech tips when skiing the Atomic Bent skis, and that feature is beneficial on the Maven when it comes to floating on fresh snow. With the directional shape and carbon inserts, you get a lightweight, powerful ski that can rip the whole mountain.

Details
Smooth, intuitive, and fun, Atomic's Maven line sets the bar for women's all-mountain skis. The incredibly versatile Maven 86 C is the middle-width option and features carbon inserts, which, along with poplar wood and lightweight fiberglass, produce a snappy and responsive construction. An ideal combination of taper and rocker in the front works with Atomic's HRZN Tech Tip to give excellent float in powder. HRZN Tech features a cross-ski rocker profile that increases surface area by 10% without increasing width—the front is slightly curved like the hull of a boat, which performs great in powder while also providing smooth turn initiation. The Maven's Directional Shape has less rocker in the tail for more stability and edge hold at speed. Just enough sidecut maximizes carving performance, and a significant taper in the tail allows for quick edge release from turns. Whether you're charging through crud, surfing powder, attacking moguls, or just having a fun day skiing with friends, the Atomic Maven 86 C has the performance features and versatility for you to ski your best on any trail.
- OMatc construction used in the new Maverick skis is specifically tuned for women in the Maven series
- HRZN Tech Tip boat hull shaped shovel helps surf powder and reduces tip deflection in crud
- 86mm waist has great stability in powder and variable snow
- Winter 2023/24 model
HRZN Tech Tip
HRZN Tech blends an ABS sidewall construction with revolutionary across-the-ski (horizontal) rocker to add 10% more surface area. This delivers super enhanced floatation, less tip deflection, and more efficient tracking through slop and crud without adding any swing weight.
Flow Profile
Atomic’s Flow Profile blends the perfect amount of rocker and camber for optimal effective edge contact during every turn. Utilizing the latest generation HRZN Tech Tip, Flow Profile delivers the ideal combination of camber, shovel taper, and tip rocker to create a ski that hooks up on hardpack as well as floats in fresh snow.
OMatic Core
Atomic’s OMatic Core is constructed with only essential materials; precision milled poplar wood, lightweight fiberglass and titanal layers or carbon inserts (depending on the model) provide effortless performance, balance, and stability from tip to tail.
Dura Cap Sidewall
Dura Cap Sidewall runs from base to top sheet for controlled power transmission and great edge grip. The rounded shape of the Dura Cap Sidewall picks up fewer dents and dings, which makes the ski more durable.
Light Woodcore
Light Woodcore is a poplar wood core that is super lightweight without sacrificing any shock absorption or stability.
Carbon Backbone
Carbon Backbone is an ultra-lightweight carbon insert that runs the length of the ski like a stabilizing backbone. This provides exceptional agility and edge hold with no extra weight.
Directional Shape
Directional Shape is a ski profile that features all-mountain capability, a subtle yet effective rocker contour, and a flatter tail for increased power on firm snow that results in easy turn initiation, strong edge grip, and a smooth exit from the turn.
