DPS 112 RP Pagoda Tour Ski
Details
Taking cues from DPS' line of frontside-specific Pagoda Piste skis, the 112 RP Pagoda Tour combines frontside skiability with a lightweight construction that won't weigh you down on the skintrack. The secret? Well, DPS has never been one to shy away from practicing a bit of engineering magic (or alchemy, rather) in its pursuit to build the world's most advanced skis, but at the end of the day, the only dark arts you'll find in the Pagoda Tour is sound engineering and unrelenting attention to detail. In the case of the Pagoda Tour, this manifests itself through a paulownia and ash wood core infused with aerospace-grade foam, resulting in a backcountry ski with DNA firmly rooted in on-piste performance.
With a wide 112 mm waist width, these skis are the powder specialists in the DPS Pagoda Tour lineup, but that's not to say they won't hold their own when that storm forecasted to put down 12+ inches of fluff only produces about 2. For security, DPS added full sidewalls (something their original backcountry-focused Tour1 skis were missing) to increase the overall durability of the new Pagoda Tour. Then, they added pre-preg carbon laminates above and below the wood core to help stiffen things up without adding weight. Throw in a textured topsheet and reinforced mounting area, and you have a ski you can take deep into the backcountry with confidence.
