Ride Summary

Tight switchbacks set the technical tone at the start, but they give way to a long steady climb through dense aspen groves which makes this a great ride on a hot summer day.

Rosebud Ambush is a classic Park City mountain bike ride – some technical, some steady climbing, some wicked fast cross-mountain riding, and some cool downhill biking. The ride begins near the base of The Canyons Resort and soon after the start of single track there are numerous switchbacks. Most of which are doable by advanced intermediates if it has rained recently, but which may test even advanced riders if it has been dry for a while. If you actually make all of the switchbacks up and down, consider yourself an advanced rider. After that, the climb through beautiful aspens and evergreens is as pretty as it is steady. At the top of the loop, you’ll head into The Canyons Resort for some fun, fast cross-mountain riding (because it’s mostly downhill) before climbing back out for the final plunge down.
