  • “Okay, there are a lot of good goggles out there. In really flat light and driving snow, the Chromopop lenses give better definition than all of them. First, the anti-fog system works when it is super humid and super cold. If you exhale up into the lens, it’ll fog just like anything else, but it clears in less than half the time of most lenses. Second, the red mid-range lens is a great choice for 80% to 85% of the days. You only need the darkest lens on a perfect bluebird day in April, and you only need the storm lens about 10% to 15% of the time on those really dark snowy days. Speaking of which, I’ve had two occasions in the past year when it was a complete inside-of-a-ping-pong-ball type whiteout. Yes, it was tough to see even with the Chromopop lenses, but I could apparently see a whole lot better than everyone else I was with could, meaning I wasn’t as surprised by terrain changes as they were because I could see them better. Get the Chromopop lenses somewhere near a tree line, and they pick up contrast noticeably with even the slightest light density difference. Third, the lenses take about five seconds to change so you can go from the everyday lens to the storm lens on a chairlift ride or heli bump without having to stop for anything.”

  • “The single-pivot quick release on the Smith IO7 Goggle is the easiest system for switching out lenses, making these the best "do everything" goggles I've ever had. The blackout lens is awesome for really bright days and can help save your eyes from damage. The blue sensor is my absolute favorite lens for gray/mixed days. It even increases depth perception so you can see things you wouldn't be able to see with a typical rose-colored lens. The AirEvac integration system on these goggles keeps them clear without fogging all day long. This system gives you the best visual experience for almost any weather the mountain throws at you. All-in-one awesome fitting, stylish goggle.”

  • “The Smith IO7’s new outrigger strap connection eliminates pressure for a very comfortable fit. And as usual, the IO goggles have a wide range of view. Swapping lenses for different light conditions is super easy, too.”
