RECEIVING ASSOCIATE

JANS LTD is looking for a dependable Full-Time Warehouse Receiving Associate to join our team. This position helps keep products, materials, and shipments moving accurately through the operation by supporting receiving, shipping, inventory handling, documentation, and warehouse organization.


We are looking for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in being organized, and understands the importance of accuracy in a warehouse environment. The right person will be reliable, detail-oriented, safety-minded, and willing to help wherever needed to support daily warehouse and production operations. Job Responsibilities:

•    Receive and unload incoming products, materials, and supplies.
•    Verify shipments against packing slips, purchase orders, and related documentation.
•    Prepare outbound shipments for postal, freight, and commercial carriers.
•    Package, label, sort, count, stock, and log incoming and outgoing inventory.
•    Check quantities, destinations, routing information, and shipment details for accuracy.
•    Inspect shipments for damage, defects, or discrepancies and report issues promptly.
•    Help maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory records.
•    Deliver materials and supplies to internal departments as needed.
•    Operate pallet jacks, dollies, forklifts, shrink-wrap equipment, and other warehouse equipment as authorized.
•    Keep warehouse areas clean, organized, and safe.
•    Follow company safety rules, PPE requirements, warehouse procedures, and quality expectations.

Job requirements:

•    Reliable attendance and ability to report to work on time.
•    Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
•    Ability to read, count, sort, check, and verify shipment and inventory information.
•    Basic math and documentation skills.
•    Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
•    Ability to work safely and effectively in a warehouse or shop environment.
•    Willingness to learn company processes, shipping procedures, and inventory systems.
•    Professional, team-oriented attitude.
•    Warehouse, shipping, receiving, inventory, stockroom, or material handling experience.
•    Forklift experience or willingness to become forklift certified.
•    Experience with pallet jacks, dollies, shrink-wrap equipment, or similar warehouse equipment.
•    Experience with packing slips, purchase orders, shipping labels, bills of lading, or carrier documentation.
•    Experience using inventory systems, ERP systems, scanners, or warehouse tracking processes.

Requirements

First consideration will be given to those who also have demonstrable fly-fishing experience and understand the gear associated with that activity. Even more consideration will be given to experienced fly-fishing candidates who have demonstrable outdoor hiking, trekking, and camping experience and understand the gear associated with those activities.

•    Strong fly-fishing knowledge
•    Demonstrate product knowledge
•    Retail Sales experience preferred
•    Fly tying experience preferred
•    Perform all cash register/point-of-sale functions accurately and efficiently, such as: sales, returns, exchanges, credit card sales, lay-a-ways, special orders, transfer in/out, etc.
•    Provides pricing information by answering questions
•    Strong basic math skills, with attention to detail and ability to multitask
•    Resolves customer issues and answers questions
•    Superior communication and interpersonal skills
•    Strong organizational and operational skills
•    Contributes to team
•    Attend all staff meetings and accessory product clinics
•    Able to stand for extended periods of time
•    Able to lift to 50lbs
•    Readily adjusts schedule, tasks, and priorities when necessary to meet business needs
