Editor

JANS has an opportunity for a full-time Editor to join our ecommerce team in Park City. As editor, you will collaborate with the ecommerce team, buyers, and in-store staff to develop content that promotes product and allows customers to make an informed purchase online. This position will mostly focus on editing and writing product content, adhering to our style guide, and ensuring that front end content is done to a high standard and quality.

Required education: Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience

Required experience: At least one year full-time professional experience in a role demonstrating proficiency in writing, editing, or project management

Compensation: DOE

Job Criteria: A qualified candidate can demonstrate an ability to:

  • Accurately edit for and write grammatically correct content that effectively relates key selling features and adheres to SEO best practices
  • Take initiative to prioritize and complete tasks with minimal direction
  • Effectively and professionally communicate with teammates
  • Proficiently use Google Drive, Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams, Word)
  • Relate experience using outdoor gear, technical outerwear, and lifestyle accessories
  • Some experience working in WordPress and Adobe Photoshop is preferred
  • Previous outdoor industry or retail experience is preferred

Job description:

  • Assist with writing blog posts, key information, and other web pages as needed
  • Edit product content, promo content, landing pages, and blogs
  • Developing a blog content calendar and assigning blog articles to writing staff
  • Provide constructive feedback to writing staff
  • Write detailed product descriptions for jans.com
  • Edit vendor product images to meet in-house standards
  • Ensure all content adheres to the jans.com style guide and SEO best practices
  • Research and understand outdoor gear and apparel and be able to relate a suitable recommended use for each item
  • Communicate with vendor contacts and reps in a friendly and professional manner
  • Take and implement constructive feedback from Ecommerce Manager and other stakeholders
  • Manage the ecommerce production process of placing products online for summer and winter seasons. Specifically, this requires:
    • Assigning brands to teammates to write product descriptions
    • Editing content prior to go-live
    • Accounting for progress

Seeking an Accounting Assistant for immediate hire!

Office centrally located in beautiful Park City, UT.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Primary focus on Accounts Payable!
  • Review invoices for appropriate documentation
  • Sort, code and 3-way match invoices, research and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms.
  • Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries.
  • Reconcile vendor statements, research, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare and process credit card payments.
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Daily “End of Day” audit for all brick-and-mortar locations
  • Assist in month end closing and other projects as needed.

Core Qualifications:

  • General knowledge of accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts and corporate procedures; previous accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong work ethic, well-organized, and attentive to detail
  • Proficient in Excel and Word, 10-key by touch, NetSuite accounting experience a plus!
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in business/accounting preferred
  • Hourly Pay, DOE
