In 1947, Klaus Obermeyer created the first down parka from a blanket his mother gave him, and the Obermeyer brand was born. Obermeyer’s goal has always been to create products that allow more people to get outside and stay comfortable while doing so. The brand has been at the forefront of innovation for the ski industry for decades and is responsible for inventing the softshell jacket, mirrored sunglasses, and seam sealing, to name just a few. However, instead of patenting their many years’ worth of innovative firsts, Obermeyer spends their time developing better ones. After all, there’s always a new problem to be solved.
